Your First Consultation

What Happens at Your First Visit

Three things happen at every first consultation. No variation, no surprises.

Halimeter® Baseline

Your VSC gas reading is taken within the first few minutes. You get an actual number — parts per billion — not a subjective assessment. This is your diagnostic starting point.

Full History & Exam

We review your medical background, medications, prior treatments, and symptoms. A high-resolution intraoral examination and salivary assessment follow. DNA or BANA testing is initiated where indicated.

Clinical Direction

You leave with a clear explanation of what we found, your Halimeter® reading, a preliminary cause hypothesis, and the next steps — whether that's waiting for DNA results or beginning treatment immediately.

Before You Arrive

How to Prepare for Your Visit

No food for 2 hours
Avoid eating for at least 2 hours before your appointment. Food temporarily neutralises VSC readings.
No mouthwash on the day
Do not use mouthwash, breath sprays, or chewing gum on the day of your consultation.
No smoking for 2 hours
Smoking suppresses VSC readings temporarily. Please avoid for at least 2 hours before testing.
Bring your medication list
A full list of current medications is reviewed at every first consultation — this is clinically important, not optional.
Bring any relevant test results
If you have prior dental X-rays, ENT reports, or blood tests, bring them — not required, but useful context.
Arrive a few minutes early
Your appointment will start with the Halimeter® test, which requires no prep beyond the above. Arriving slightly early lets you settle in.
Common Questions

Booking Questions

Everything you need to know before your first visit.

Most patients are seen within 3–5 business days of booking. Urgent requests (patients with significant anxiety or social/professional urgency) are accommodated as early as possible — mention this when booking.

Please notify us via WhatsApp or phone at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. We understand that this is a sensitive condition and cancellations are handled without question or penalty.

Yes. We see patients from across Lebanon and occasionally from abroad. For patients traveling significant distances, we can consolidate the diagnostic work into a single extended appointment where possible. DNA results that require follow-up can sometimes be discussed remotely and treatment initiated locally or via coordinated referral.

Absolutely. WhatsApp us with a brief description of your situation and we will respond honestly about whether we think a consultation is likely to help. We do not encourage appointments where we do not believe we can add value to what a patient has already tried elsewhere.
